Essential Medical X-Seal and Manta Vascular Closures

In the growing and ever changing world of interventional cardiology, minimally-invasive procedures have evolved from basic angioplasty and stenting to full heart valve replacements.  As a rising startup in the vascular closure segment, Essential Medical recognized that closure technology was not keeping up with the advancement of cath-lab procedures.  Current devices were unable to close the larger punctures needed for the latest procedures and lacked adequate feedback to ensure a successful closure and immediate hemostasis.  Essential Medical approached DesignThink to help them address these needs.  Two distinct products were created capable of closing punctures from 6F through 24F, giving careful attention to maintaining user familiarity throughout the line.  DesignThink was instrumental in helping Essential Medical complete two successful European trials and achieve CE certification.
